Anything Interesting In Milton Keynes?

Playing Dad's taxi Sunday possibly. Taking the youngest and her friends to "Bludfest" at Milton Keynes Bowl. It's an all day thing until late.

Plan is drop them off and find something to do for X hours.

Any good engineering type museums up there?

No idea if they still do it, but the old Aston factory at Newport Pagnell used to do mini tours. But it’s 20 years since I’ve been there.

I worked in MK on and off nearly 40 years back. The older lad I was with was an Aston fan and would insist on driving across the motorway every time on the way home just to have a look at the factory. He did the tour pre investment there and said they had saucepans and buckets catching the roof leaks.

Having to venture over the river in the first place is bad enough. Worse is that today I've to clear the car of tools and "today I acquired" esque tat. SWMBO does most ferrying but MK is too far/much for her as she "doesn't like motorways".

There's the National Radio Centre, right next to Bletchley Park.

The Grand Union Canal runs through MK, if you fancy a walk along the towpath.

There's the MOPAR "Ultimate American Muscle Car show" going on at Santa Pod Raceway, this weekend, not too far away.

Newport Pagnell services, just up the M1. One of the first motorway services in the UK. One for the masochists, really, but it might float your boat to visit a bit of Britain's "history".
