Ipod thingy to Dad's amplifier thingy lead

Junior has just bought an Ipod (4G whatever that is). he wants to connect it to my amp. I suppose I can let him.
Amp end has a red and a white connecty thingy, Ipod thingy has a small hole in it.

Anybody got any ideas.

if, however, you want it to last any real length of time, get one with neutrik connectors if you can, as they are the badgers nadgers.

A lead with Phono leads at one end and a 3.5mm jack on the other.
I could find one and take a photo, if you want.
Turn the volume down before plugging in!

i was jus browsing at the right time, and may have plugged ipods into many amps, including the 3kW PA that I have use of

depending on the car that granny has, you may be able to use a jack-to-jack lead. Else a tape adaptor, or a FM transmitter.

The transmitters give poor sound quality though.

Junior says it is a Fiat 500.
I was impressed by the first response, 4 minutes to me having bought the lead thingy. Quicker than google.

I would be surprised if a new fiat 500 didn't have an 'aux in' on it, look on the dash/center console/inside the glove box for a hole the same as the one in the top of the ipod, usually labelled 'aux in'

if there is, you need one of these.

I did lay down a few rules, no Kylie, no Abba, no 'House music' or he has to leave home.

So far, Muse and System of Down promising promising. Junior was a bit pizzled when I admitted to almost buying both albums when they were released. Weird Al Yankovich? well it does make me laugh. Mum has gone out.

Missus has got a Fiat 500 and I've got an Ipod. They didn't get on too well together through the USB socket in the car, or perhaps I should've spent three days trying to 'configure' the thing. I'm afraid I'm a bit old school ... I like to switch things on and for them to work otherwise I'm not interested.

just use a memory stick in the car they work fine.
ipods store the songs in m4a format i think and i doubt many car stereos will be compatible with that format. also the ipod doesnt store its songs in a root folder so harder to access

Chunko and Marty2005... The Fiat 'Blue & Me' system is notoriously unreliable. I know this as my Mrs has a 2008 Grande Punto with it installed. We are forever having to update it (free at the dealer) or you can go to this link to get the latest update downloads:

To use an iGeek phone or an iGeekpod you will need to use a Blue & Me adaptor for which the lovely peeps at Fiat will sting you £70 for the privilege.
Also, try unhooking the battery for 5 minutes. This usually resets the Blue & Me to it's factory default settings.
My Mrs recently bought an iPhone and although she hasn't started self-harming yet, she was mightily racked-off when my 3 year old Nokia 6300 configured instantly with the Blue & Me hands free doobrie, and her brand new all-singing all-dancing iNerdphone wouldn't have any of it.

I have all of the System albums, havn't listened to them for a few years though.

I ended up running a LAN cable out there, but the old pc I was using went kaput and I never got round to replacing it (yet!)

Christ. Updating your stereo. They've even managed to over-complicate bleedin car stereos...

MP3 with FM transmitter through 60s radio here, quality is good. Used to use it in the house until we got internet radios that also play music stored on PCs.
Had a cheap transmitters that was total rubbish, but current one is good.
