It hasn't been too bad once I started. De-rusting them is a bigger task than sharpening them.

This Plasplugs thing puts a hollow grind on them.

Needs must I suppose but I wouldn’t put such a severe concave bevel on a chisel. The effective angle will be a lot more acute, more like 15 degrees at the tip.

Upshot is, they might fold chip or blunt the minute you start using them….

When you've sharpened the fronts tape some wet and dry to a sheet of flat board or glass and flatten the backs off.

I flatted the back, i.e the little burr on the oilstone.

I got the pillar drill in Makro too probably 25 years ago. "Rolson Quality Tools" was indeed the slogan. Some of it was dire.

The pillar drill has been a trooper mind. Abused to hell. The NVR switch packed up soon after purchase so I cobbled one together with a contactor / hold on circuit.

I've a number of Nu-Tool products from Makro bought back in the day. The £9.99 cordless drill kits etc. Most crap and consigned to the broken tools draw. I did dig out a mains circular saw and consigned it to cutting Aquapanel cement board mind.

iis that an illusion looks to be curved on the ground face and the tip looks to be at a massive angle should be sharpened as in wozzas post. set mine up for the angles on belt sander using my wixey digital angle finder. need to be fairly accurate for a smooth cut
