If they've blocked you in your driveway, that's preventing access to the carriageway.

Yep I had FOUR cops in cars come to my house for parking in front of a drop kerb at a garage front. They said I was preventing the owner from accessing the road. I said get them to open the door the garage is full of junk all they want is you to get me to move so they can put their own car there.
Anyway I had to move or get a ticket and sure enough as soon as the cops went they parked their car in front of their own garage.

In London that's why you pay for the kerb to be dropped...the council even promotes it as giving you an extra parking space.

Good stuff. If not already a 24hr access sign may also be a good idea. I find folk don't park in front of driveways up here.
I get a fair few people parking across my driveway with a car on it with the of the car being 3ft from the pavement and without any gates to hide it. Once I needed to use the are on my driveway and when I found out who was blocking my driveway they told me they were ok to park there as I could use my other car that was parked on the road. another person parked across it as he said it wasn't recognised as a driveway as it didnt have a dropped kerb. The kerbs are only 2 inches above the road. On the other side of the road they use the pavement as part of the road as its not wide enough for 2 cars to pass one another.
