First time using an air fryer last night, cooking stuffing balls to accompany a Hog roast.
Air frying process itself worked fine but the controls are annoying.
I don't expect any of this would be an issue for home use but it's a pain when you have to do it constantly.
The machine I have is a Salter Pro Twin Draw,
Issues:
Settings are not stored when powered off so needs setting up again on arrival.
Display alternates between remaining time and cooking temperature, You don't seem to be able to constantly display one or the other.
One start button is shared between both drawers so you have to select a drawer first then start.
It goes into standby after not being used for a while then you have to reprogram time/temp.
Touchscreen buttons are not ideal with wet hands/gloves.
If you open the Draw during cooking it does automatically restart when you close it which is good.
So, ideally what I am after
(Portable size, 13a plug)
Would be something with a manual dial for temp and a twiddle round timer knob for time. I think I'm unlikely to find that!
But, does anyone have one where it shows the remaining time constantly and has a start button for each tray?
Also a 'keep-warm' function at the end of the cooking time would be handy.
Or, one where the 2 draws could be swapped around so I could set one to cook and one to keep warm (my draws are handed left & right)
Basically, I'm loading one tray up, setting 10mins, then starting the other tray 5mins later and repeating this on a constant cycle for a couple of hours..
