Best repair for ladder?

I recently encountered a similar issue with my aluminum ladder's brackets and found this discussion really helpful. Based on the advice shared here, I decided to drill out the old rivets and opt for larger aluminum pop rivets. It was a straightforward fix and seems to have addressed the problem effectively.

Parm wouldn't like to see a lot of my workplace.Unfortunately I don't have many options, I've done the career version of painting myself into a corner.

So when I got the brackets off I realised the extra holes in the brackets were in fact dimples.



So the ladder already had 4no holes drilled either side from factory. So I decided on the strongest solution IMO of m5 rivnuts (I will drill out the dimples to accept the extra bolts)

This repair is now complete. I used the ladder 2 storeys this evening and solid as a rock.

If his insurers saw that it would quickly become the boss's top priority....thats an accident claim waiting to happen!

Good pair of boots and you can't tell the difference

Boots with steel mid soles with a proper heel are the best boots for these round & thin D tread ladders .

Funny enough I do have sore feet this morning was wearing trainers.

I'll wear work boots today have more to do.

Tell me about it, working off a ladder, got so focused on what I was doing, time flew, tried to come off the ladder with both feet, that wasn't going to happen, workmates came to the rescue.

Left foot, the unimaginable, indescribable pain/agony, I think I'd rather suffer split pins through my nuts then to go through that again, I can't imagine the pain being any worse, I swear down I sweated a few pounds for a number of hours.

Lesson learned, working off a ladder, shift your feet.
