How to stop corrosion on Aliminuim tools

I'm not a fan of the spray cans, not only are they expensive, but had the propellent fail in the past with plenty still left in it.

Propellant is almost always going to be butane and it is very simple and safe, to repressurise a spray using a lighter refil can.

its in the new shed not really damp as it is well insulated.

New sheds stay wet for months + the preservative fumes doesn't help either.

I use duck oil thinned a bit with brake cleaner for such jobs. Don't have that much of an issue with rust though TBH.

I bet for the cost of ACF-50, it's worth investigating a small dehumidifier. It'll help anyway take out any "new build" moisture.

As an aside, given the cost as I say, I wonder if ACF-50 has fallen victim to the counterfeiters? I need to get a can. Need to ship a massive part on a flat bed truck and I find it's excellent for protecting bare steel and the spherical bearing surfaces.

Where's good to buy?

I used opie oils on ebay.
She'd is 4 years old now.
I have a dehumidifier in the old workshop/shed.
I am sure last time I used the saw it was spitting with rain so I reakon that was the cause. Galvic corrosion between the Ali and steel parts.

Yes, even with lots of vents and doors open on sunny days mine took best part of a year, but it has been very wet the last 12 months. The relative humidly is at last comparable to my garage.

It tured up today. Now to clean the graphite spray off and use this.
