Decent enough multi tool?

Hello,
I've searched first, but results are generally for blades.
My trusty Saxton oscillating multi tool appears to have thrown in the towel. It was presumably a rebadged something and I never managed to find out what, but it was a hefty beast - all metal inside & took a hammering over the years.
Anyway, I'd be interested to hear suggestions on a worthwhile replacement corded jobbie. I'm not pro, but take on fairly heavy jobs so I'm looking for a good middle ground model rather than top end or ultra budget.

Just switched from mains to cordless.

I have two 18v dewalts. One is 8 years old and still going strong.
If not batteries already then the corded wouldn't be a bad buy

I've got the Bosch 12 v cordless and corded ones and can't fault them really.

I have the makita 18 volt brushless, very nice bit of kit, if you already use their batteries.

the cheapo s are ok for diy but not as powerfull as the expensive branded make ones even the bosch ones but are adequate for diy . i had a mcalister battery one given was ok and got a couple of years ouit of it before the bearings gave up

I have a Dewalt 18v one, a Milwaukee 18v one and a 12v one they are all great bits of kit.
I also have a corded erbauer screwfix special that is about 3 years old and still going strong, that tends to get abused for the long run time without having to swap batteries!
I did have before the erbauer, a cheep Einhell corded one that must have done at least 7 years before it shook itself to death.
That cut up many sheets of 3/4 ply on jobs where it was all I had in the van, got covered in cow leaving's, soaked and dropped many times.
I honestly kept thinking this will be it's last job before the magic smoke escapes, but it just kept ploughing through until it finally gave up!

Cordless DeWalt does me well, but I barely use it once a year.

I went down the blue Bosch route, takes starlock tools same as Fein.

+1 for the DeWalt...just don't buy anything that isn't quick release. Was using one at the weekend that needed an Allen key...grrrr

Cordless DeWalt does me well, but I barely use it once a year.

use mine most days handy not having to plug it in rarely use my bosh chorded one now.as above quick release is a must to turn the blade on various cuts

I did have a Fein years ago. Probably the best ones, at least back then.

That was until some Charlie Uniform November Tango nicked it, and I am sure it was one of the guys working at the same place.

they were the rolls royce of the day and expensive .were the market leader till makita dewalt and hitachi started making them at a well reduced price and affordable to most public . most folk had never heard or seen one now everyone and his dog has one

Corded I’d go Bosch or Fein, cordless you can’t go wrong with the DeWalt, was always the best cordless until the new Makita came out, that things lovely to use (least vibration sent back to user) but beware some report issues with the release lever.
