The Wife wants to change the flooring downstairs .
We have laminate down now been there 10 years.
She wants the same stuff in 3 rooms .
We were at the flooring place , she was testing the samples .
Scratching them with her keys .
The assistant assured her it was scratch resistant .
Then she came out with a belter .
"WILL HE BE ABLE TO ROLL A 50 LITRE ARGON BOTTLE OVER IT"
I will downsize to 20 litre now the big ones are to heavy for me .

LVT….is very good. Click or glue down. A bottle trolley is a godsend for old fogies!

I can carry a 20 no problem at one time I could lift a 50 Like you say a bottle trolly .

Having just relaid the laminate floor in SWMBOs rental flat, I can honestly say that I hate it.

I don't like the stuff anyway, but this had the skirting boards fitted over it, and she insisted that I did not take the skirting boards off to do it. FFS.

Always looks tatty when it wears through. Only have floorboards here, even though the varnish is long gone after forty years it only looks lived in.

These new floors ant like the old floors the joints are crap they have a black plastic trim in the joint

We bought engineered wood flooring. Top layer of 5mm oak. I wouldn't buy it again though. Looked lovely for a few years but scratches and dents easily and has faded in the sun. If you move the sideboard the floor's a totally different shade underneath lol. Laminate has really improved over the years and I'd go for a quality laminate next time, just for practicality. Shame it costs so much to have it professionally fitted.

We can sand our engineered floor so might do that at some point to get it looking better.

I've fitted click vinyl in a few places. Much more hard wearing than laminate, resists a drinks spill, wet coats dripping on it, a cold steam clean etc.
