Is this New or used?

Just got this part for my car, to me the marks look like it’s been used, the company are adamant its brand new and never been used.

Looks like it's been installed before for sure yeah going by the bolt scrapings.

Need a mug for scale - what is it?

I understand not ideal but I'd use it anyway. Now if it was a £9800 upper camber arm for a new lambo then maybe I'd think again so need some context.

could be machining marks to tolerance if the galve hasnt been rubbed off- scratched

Assume its a suspension part or similar that will be fitted under the car?
It will look even more second hand very soon. I wouldn't worry about it.

Part number points to it being a retaining gadget for a water pump, don’t think I would be losing sleep over this.

Have you sent them the photo and asked them about the marks?

Ask them to remove a brand new item from the box, photograph it and send photo to you.

It’s about 3 inches across, aluminum, I’m not going to send it back, just wanted a reality check , to me it looks used , cost £30.00.

Could have simply been returned from someone else that tried it, and didn't fit.

Looks like it's been massively over tightened on the middle hole or the bolt was cross threaded and went in at an angle.

The distinction may be ‘fitted’ or ‘used’
Looks a if only two mounts were used - perhaps #3 didn’t so it was returned

It’s definitely been fitted but that’s all. If it fits just use it.

I have checked our stock records and can confirm that this part is brand new, and this is how it had been received from our Porsche supplier. I have checked to see if any of these parts have been returned by our customers of which they may been placed back in stock, but we have not had any.

This is how our supplier had produced and delivered this part.

Was it in a sealed packet when it arrived as most parts appear to be?
Ultimately if it fits is there an issue?

Wouldn’t be the first time that used parts have been supplied, happened loads of times with stuff supplied by ECP when the parts had been returned to them them but they didn’t check them before sending them out again . Clutches, alternators , starters etc , it got to the point I always opened the boxes in front of the delivery driver.
