Email software

I know we have a few techie types on here so can anyone recommend software for emails? currently tyring to use the latest version of outlook but its got a mind of its own and ive had enough of it!

I’ve never used it as a “proper” email client but I have used Thunderbird for some emails that I had to send/receive from an alarm system, which worked ok.

I’ve not used it a lot so some people might disagree but it seemed ok from what I saw.

I use Thunderbird and apart from a faff disabling the threaded view (which seems a lot of email systems are using now, often called conversations) back to the more traditional it's been good.

I used to use forte agent but I now use Gmail. Any mail I need to collect from any of my websites I just add the server details into Gmail.

Gmail is so simple in reality it's a no brainer..

@Blobber Not sure if yours is the same as I'm a Mac user but you have the option of using Legacy Outlook which keeps it the same as previous versions. I can't get on with latest version either so use this option

Used outlook a lot for work, but for basic stuff thunderbird does the job I find.

I used Outlook for many years, but then somehow ended up on Thunderbird (but was Outlook better ).

I do have a Gmail account but seldom use it; never taken to it.

I don't know when hotmail changed to outlook, but I can't get on with it on Android, so gmail works great for me, for all my various accounts.

how do you do that? i use thunderbird too and its grand, but that part of it is a bit annoying!

had yahoo, had hotmail and no i wont download it to the pc either its only used via the browser

not keen on google ( gmail ) or its connected things either

opened a new proton.me account a non tracking email account its doing what i want so far

On my version of Thunderbolt there's a icon at the extreme left of the column title line (Subject, Correspondents, Date headings) that if clicked on toggles through display options. It's a blob with two smaller blobs dangling off the bottom of it.

View --> Sort By --> Unthreaded

There is also a global flag you can set to disable it - mailnews.default_view_flags = 0

Can't stand threaded views in any email client. My brain works chronologically.

I use Thunderbird, have it set to download messages from both Gmail and hotmail accounts. Then set folders up for stuff I need to keep.

I thought Outlook worked with any email address. As in its email software

It does, have 4 mail boxes setup from 4 different providers
