3/8’ 10mm push fit problem

So here's the plan:

Ignore the problem for now, connect the filter unit(s) to the regular cold tap.

That part of the system isn't broken yet.

Once it's up and running I can calm down a bit and sort out the "F" tap at my leisure and with a few of the helpful comments above (many thanks!) I think it might even be doable. Need to get this done sort of "now" though so I have to run with what I could get off the shelf and out of the shed. A nightmare of BSP 1/2 to 15mm flexible hose issues. Largely because the shelves around here are mostly empty!

This is the problem though.

There's is almost no access. So Whatever solution I come up with, I need to work around that problem in particular. Plus ideally disturb as few of those crusty looking connections as possible.

I will put the filter unit between that lovely shiny looking 15mm compression fitting (existing cold tap) which is itself, tucked away behind the food disposal thingy.

<edit> the offending stub is out of the picture but top right above the 1 inch gap between basin bottoms. Flush to the back of the cabinet and a generous 2 inches from the rear of the basin.

I'd strip out all those drains...and look if the centre of the cupboard can come out too. Then get a platform built so you can get better access...I'm too old to be faffing about and I've worked out that removing stuff is preferable to me losing my temper and hitting it .

Back from the Indian now! Box spanner and socket onto that, if it is a filtered watered supply surely the fitting screws onto the end and then to a push fit arrangement. As previously said Allen key in the pipe?

If you release the nut, would that spigot undo with a hex bit on a socket extension?
If so, are replacement spigots available?
It looks as if it was wound in using water pump pliers or a pipe wrench - hence the scratches

This one of the reasons that I stopped doing plumbing jobs. You'll be very lucky if things unscrew easily, usually there's a good amount of corrosion or calcification that will be a real pain.

Nope. All bad luck so far. Bought two flexible hoses (going to use one of the existing ones without touching the corroded connectors). One 500mm which was probably going to be a bit short and one 1000mm just in case.

But when I opened the 1000mm version, it has the "wrong end". Both packets say they are Compression Flexible Tap Connector 15mm x 3/4" x (500mm or 1000mm). Logic demands they should be the same type of connector the only difference (according to the label) one twice the length of the other.

The weird giant end isn't even a compression fitting... And no, I didn't see that in the packet. I did look at the shorter one and maybe the visible end of the long one but I didn't see the error/mistake(?) until it was too late.

So half way through the job and I have to put it all back together and argue the toss with Wickes tomorrow. Pretty sure they'll just refund etc. but what a massive pain in the ar5e.

I read those as 3/4" BSP to 15mm which woukd be correct for proper bath taps.

But <whatever they are> I would expect them to be the same except for length. Am I missing something?

Stop messing about. Remove hot and cold, plus the drains, remove sink. Fit new!

Now it's done it looks so easy and obvious but there were so many difficulties largely due to access, it was a nightmare coming up with such a simple solution.

Yeah. Will attack the dodgy spigot at a later date. This was for a neighbour and the clock was ticking. Needed to get done and needed to be a guaranteed solution. Who knows what would happen if I even touched those dodgy looking undersink connections.Look at how the water comes in:

The isolating valve fouls against the side of the waste disposal unit. Forget about getting a spanner on it. And is that sealing cord piled up inside the elbow?

Ah - the complication of being a neighbours tap didn’t register. Nightmare!!
