3/8’ 10mm push fit problem

Here”s the problem:

Devil of a job getting the old broken connector off and either I did the damage or this old tap has always been like that. Question is; will a push fit or even a compression fitting be water tight looking at all those deep scores?

It’s a Franke filterflow with a filtered water tap I want to connect to a filter. Looks like it requires a component assembly according to the parts diagram, not a simple replacement plus the whole thing has to come out. Is there some other solution to the above.

I assume there must be some sort of tool for cleaning up scored copper (??) fittings but there are extreme access issues too with it being tucked away at the back of the unit between two sink bowls.

3D print a tube of the correct ID with some channels in it. Daub in some valve lapping compound and spin it with a drill.

You could make the outside of the 3DP hexagonal and drive it with a deep socket. That might allow it to be thin wall for access with the socket wall providing strength.

Is the tap hot and cold only, or is there a third, filtered water connecton? What I'm seeing is just the threaded clamp bolt, with some of the thread worn away.

You're right. But also, the more I look at it the more it appears that there's a thread on the outer.

They are tricky - but using a tap spanner or monobloc spanner will get the nut undone, then you can see what you're looking at on top of the sink instead of underneath? I THINK that is just a retaining bolt - with the hex inside to drive it into the tap as @8ob spotted. I don't think water goes through it - are you sure it did before?

Looks brass? You might be able to clean it up well and solder a fitting on, without melting everything.

You'll be soldering it in place then though.

It is a Franke Filterflow tap. It has hot, cold and filtered cold water. Hence, it needs three pipes supplying it. One of the pipes does double duty as the fixing screw (alternatively, the fixing screw does double duty as the filtered water inlet).

Only thing I can think of is take it off and solder on a new bit of pipe that will then allow a push fit or compression to be installed.

But you'll need to figure how to get the nut to pass over the repair I think.

Yes it is sort of bodged onto the incorrect type of fitment. For the "Filter" tap. But it looks so old and crusty right at the back of the cabinet, out of reach fingertip only and no chance of seeing it at the same time as fingering it.***

I really, really don't want to touch it tbh.

You're right. But also, the more I look at it the more it appears that there's a thread on the outer.

Neither of them look like they're going to budge without pipe bending amounts of torque...

On the regular franke tap the securing rod does unscrew from the tap body.

I considered the idea then I thought to myself,"what would a real plumber do?"

Access is a real problem it is a nightmare to get to.

The nut holding the tap down onto the sink looks as if it will come off easily enough, using a suitably deep socket. The hot and cold water tails should unscrew easily enough, once they've been released from their pipe unions.
