Have a brooks motors Ltd. ( Not a Brooks Crompton) Cap and centrifugal SW
Looking for resistances for start winding and Run winding resistance . rough ideas for both
Cap value ? =49 uf ??

A mouse made a nest in it and cap no markings went Pffut, it is a big old motor

Thanks, Damm mice they ate the insulation and through the wires from the connector block. It is on a compressor that can stand idle for months, in a pump house @Brad93

I've got a motor that I'm not using stashed away in the shed.
It's very much like your motor from your description, (large cap under a cover on the outside and a centrifugal switch) but pretty certain it's only a 1hp version.

However, if you're still stuck & I can dig it out & have a shufti?

Sat down and looked at the thing, did a drawing simple, removed wire to cf switch, fiddly the little beast had had for its evening meal, replaced, still no run then remembered I acquired it and never used it still blowing fuse.
Looked at drawing checked with meter, some one had wired CFswitch in across mains
