Oil test is a success with a nice 50psi cold and no play/leak in the bearing/seals, only a little leak around the bypass channel but what engine doesn't leak

Got a 2nd buck converter coming to fix the gauges switching off problem (give them a separate power supply as the 24v to 12v 30a one does a 5s reboot when you apply a load to it whilst it's already receiving 24v which makes the gauges restart)

Mk2 TIG torch holder tested the other day. Quite a bit bigger compared to the mk1.
Works great, I'm really happy with the way the torch is held under its own weight. I have a video of retention and kicking the cable about and it doesn't let go.
I'm going to make some cosmetic changes to the front plate, but I think this is it design wise.
Genuinely a useful product now and not just a gimmick.
I put the videos on Facebook but haven't got around to Instagram yet.

This is true . . . but I'm not sure that helps when a child loses their fingers . . .

An 85mm garrett turbo turned into a jet engine which consumes 1L a minute of kerosene at 600psi and hopefully producing ~100lbs of thrust

Did some welding, well I stuck a few bits of metal together with a TIG welder, not my finest job but I don't get much torch time, last time it was used was before Christmas

It's just some box and angle I had kicking about, tube is supposed to swivel

Also machined this which is goes with the frame



If it all works, will post some photos and maybe a video of what it does, if it fails, I'll still post the evidence

I treated this as an adult implement that wouldn’t be used by children specifically,it’s on a private drive occupied by a retired couple.

I efffing hate insomnia. It is killing me.
But it does have some perks.

I turned this up because I found some wooden pegs.

The felt is the self adhesive type. The lines were burnt in using a dead steel rule heated to dull red.

That is an ingenious way to create the cross-hatching; at first I thought it had been inlaid.

It is! If you know of a source for acetal chopping boards please share... They are usually HDPE.

If it is HDPE, it is very poor for creep. Any loading is likely to turn those mounting holes oval and fail.

Any old chopping boards I've fallen across seem to have aged badly - very brittle.

I found a useful source for bigger ones - the local deli counter in the supermarket uses twice-normal-size ones. I must go in and chivvy them up, it's been ages since I last asked them for their old ones.
Another useful supply of medium storage are the better quality catering margerine tubs - free for the asking. I use them for lens storage and other things.

Well I couldn't resist giving it a little go at home instead of far away from the village, the blower instantly got stuck against the inlet and choked it out and throttle was a bit sensitive hence combo gave large undesirable flames but she wants to run!

This is not my work.
This is some one who needed time to un wind, chill out and get her head in a good place.
All I9 did was provide the tools, the tea(uggg) the tech support, the coffee(yay) and a kind word.

Where the idea to make a steam workshop with the parts I had laying around.

A few of the items.

This was got for spares for another project of mine. The boiler was gone. For her idea we had to fix it, so we did(yayme)

The idea was to make a "end of the steam days" style workshop, Think Fred Dibler set up.
ll the parts needed to be what I had. We did buy new seals for the engine and new drive bands

Getting the lay out was a bit of a faff(Yay beeer)

We(me) had to modify the engine so it had two lower flywheels.

Ready for a steam.

This afternoon I tried to make the range rover have paddle shifts

but sadly it wasn't to be , I've something wrong some where either the power to the transmitter


it's a fiddly little un pin job , pin in a piggy back cable and then join the original live . then the receiver feed which is

scotch locked to a switched live under the center console , everything other than those two is pretty much plug and play .
the .I was only on a couple of hours but it started peeing down , I'm hoping the scotch lock just hasn't pierced the small red live feed for the receiver . that'll be a job for tomorrow now ,at least I havn't got to take everything back out again to check it
