So is this easily done?
Here's the thing, our lecky bill is high, as is everyones I know, but Mrs RWD thinks it's ridiculously high and is convinced it's due to me and my shed. Now, I should explain, my shed is quite a reasonable size, is heated electrically, has a lathe (electric), a big compressor (electric), a ramp (electric), pillar drills (electric), bench grinder (electric), fridge and undersink water heater (both electric), and obvoiusly plenty of elctric power tools. Oh, it also houses my PC, a couple of printers and a small fan heater under my desk to stop me dying from frost bite.
However, I haven't had the heating on this winter but for three days, the compressor has only been fired up 3 or 4 times, and all the lighting is LED.
The shed is fed via a 10mm SWA cable (underground from the outside wall where it exits the house to where it pops up through the shed floor) that comes off of a 50A MCB in the main consumer unit (obviously all RCD protected) to an 8 way CU also with RCD protection.
In order to prove to her that the reason our lecky bills are so high is down to her relentless use of the tumble dryer, I'd like to somehow measure, over an extended period, actual energy consumption in the shed as a proportion of our total consumption.
What is possible, anything? Or am I going to have endure continued aggravation at home for just trying to enjoy my retirement!?
