I understand it's a provocative title!
Anyway...
I've been considering acquiring an ex mod Sankey trailer for a while, but the model I'm considering (wide track mk3) has a brake master cylinder thats, essentially, unavailable.
The cylinder has, I think, a .825 inch bore, whilst most landrover series units are .75 inch.
You would assume this was intentional. Ie a larger bore was required rather than the convenience of just grabbing the usual unit off the shelf.
Anyway, someone is flogging a trailer near me, and, of course, the master cylinder is stuffed.
I did find a retailer who had some nos units but these too will be ancient and at over £200 a hit with the vat etc for something that has been decaying on a shelf for the past 30 years...
So -
What's the chances of being able to find a new unit with the slightly unusual bore that can be "made to fit" in a suitable and proper way?
Thank you.
