Bradbury mk2 Ramp

Hi all,ive got what I think is a mk2 Bradbury 3 ton car Ramp oil tank on floor,Does anybody know how to replace the oil seal in ram?As sometimes when it’s getting near the lift maximum oil comes out top of ram so I’m guessing the seal has gone?

I have never rebuilt a hydraulic ram - when I have needed them done the forklift repair people in our town have done them for me.

P&A Hydraulics in southend do ours. They also do Pirteks jobs they take in

From my understanding, hydraulic ram ends either screw together, or are welded.

So raise ramps to suitable height, block them in place on the columns.

Release pressure in ram.

Dismantle hydraulic ram.

If they're screwed together, unscrew and replace seals, all seals.

If welded, it will have to go onto a lathe, weld removed, be fixed, then rewelded.

Changing the seals is a bit of a faff, but obviously cheaper if you can do it yourself, than paying a pro.
