Have you tried using the online check to see what the DVLA reckon you are entitled to drive - this is what would be added to your card if it was re-issued.

Ok so how does the total weight of 2000kg fit into 2 x 900kg?
He is in NI, he can not tow a trailer over 750kg till he passes a test.
Not much point he cant tow to the max on the plate.

I was illustrating what each stamping on the plate actually means, without taking much notice of the sums.
The answer to your question is that the axles are not rated high enough for the trailer quoted load ! Or not up to the job, if you like. Well spotted !
Curious ? Needs to have a chat with the trailer manufacturer

Not possible, sadly I was told at the time but have not verified that the business owner died. I know the brand of trailers is no longer offered for sale since that time about 5 years ago

Thats a bummer Joe, I guess, IF you are ever allowed to tow it, to stick to 1800Kg max, with regard to each axle weight, to keep on the right side of the law

Thats easy for me it never hauls gravel etc. Just bulky items like a couple of doors for house etc. And twice a year frequency
I Will look at getting the trailer test this spring as it will likely not align to UK here anytime soon

Mate's brother-in-law got pulled in N.Yorks after doing just that . . .
A fine at least, but can't remember if it involved points etc
Mind you, I don't know the state of the burger van he was towing, or the state of the Transit he was using to do the towing, or the manner and speed of his driving . . .I suspect it may all have been on the verge of self-dismantling, while being driven somewhat over the non-towing speed limit . . .

I thought the trailer training was a good idea, not so sure it needed to be as long and as drawn out as it was. Also think it should have been left in the hands of the trainers to assess and qualify.
