sockets with built in USB chargers

I am tinkering in my kitchen and thinking of replacing the sockets,
I loathe wall mounted usb chargers and fancy them built into the sockets as a way of losing the hassle of wheres the charger etc etc.
Are the built in ones any good?
I have a dim memory of them being slated here some time ago.
Any thoughts anybody?

I have them in virtually every room in the house,the workshop and the office for the very same reason, no issues at all.

I have a double socket with usb in the garage that I use for charging LED work lights. Seem to do the job OK but would probably struggle with some like an iPad.

They do not draw power when nothing is plugged in, and having them in the old house for many years did not result in fire, flood or plague. Those were the reasons they were slated previously

Oh yes they do. Just looked at the Click ones - 0.1W standby. So 2.4 units every day for each of them.

I've fitted loads (probably over 100) - BG or Lap, from screwstations - i also got a fair few from costco when they were being cleared off the shelves

Sorry, the ones I have do not draw power when not in use. Confirmed with testing

Check the backbox depth versus the sockets you buy. There's plenty that fit 25mm, but some need 35mm.

there an absolute pig to fit in some existing boxes i set the boxes back a bit from the plaster face as the edges are so tight no clearance

Had two MK ones, both died. I think charging two high draw devices at the same time overloads them.
