I couldn't resist seeing when you last posted - 30th Jan 2014.

Be interesting to see how you find it now. I think it's evolved into a many faceted forum which also has some welding and I really like it. I find it a sort of 'safe space' with remarkably few offensive characters, and a lot of support.
All credit to our mods, and also the knowledgable and diverse members.

Reckon if they had done slimming it would only be a matter of time before cooking and moving to the country/seaside into fancy houses would be suggested! ‍

Hi Graeme VW, yes, v interesting.peculiar repairs v often and quite a bit regarding stick welding of materials such as manganese steel. Plenty of pics but not too sure of how to send them. Regards, Mad Mick.

Hi Beanwood, it means 4” nominal bore, ie the outside diameter is the constant but the bore is nominal because of different available thickness of pipe wall. In this case 1/4”.
