A weekend project with no2 son, who learnt how to use a circular saw, impact screwdriver and some new words...
Finished yesterday instead of being in the office doing the office work I should have been doing and immediately put into use.
The rubber mat backstop is a horse stall mat, 12mm thick and 2m square. Wood came from some old fence rails.

My Christmas project was making a couple of lightweight pallet forks for the tractor. A set for me and a set for a friend. I made a proper set that will do 2t with proper forklift tines a couple of years ago, but they are at the cowshed and often in use when I need them. I wanted a small set for the workshop, and the small Ford tractor can't lift much anyway. These should be good for 350kg or so max. Made from second hand 75*50 box section.

Wonky bandsaw cuts. I am starting to dislike the ferrex bandsaw, for freehand use it is very difficult to aim and takes too much space.
The next is a lot worse
Trying to bore out to 25mm. One chipped new endmill later, realised this is not the best way to start. May have worked if I remebered to lock cross slide, I started in tailstock, chuck pushed out the taper..
Instead I'll drill a hole off centre then I can then use a boring bar.
Would have been a lot quicker to do it all with hacksaw and file

Let me rephrase - knurling with helical rollers on a lathe... After brazing.
The most difficult thing is to form an obtuse angle. Alpha 85 and 75 degrees, without a center hole in a plate cut from a sheet. The manual feed handles of the knife on the support cling to each other at such cone turning angles.

I suspect it is meant to be pulled as in the chuck was pulled out of the tailstock taper.?

Blade's tension / rollers or the adjustable thickness guide is usually the reason on my cheapy (not Ferrex).

No drawbar on the tailstock so the side load pushed it out. I swapped to the toolpost mt2 holder with a bolt then forgot to lock the cross slide
Part problem is it cuts with the blade coming towards you so the work is against the saw and hidden, you can only look over the other side, not practical.
It would be much better if I could get some reverse cutting blades and reverse the motor so the cut is against the other side, then could see what Im doing!
This would also improve the frame, as it would be cutting against the solid jaw instead of the moving one.
Nothing adjustable on ferrex. Its an awkward shape with the blade at an angle which doesnt seem to match up with the flat top, theres no sighting lines to aim it with.

Made this contraption to fit my phone onto old laser level tripod.
Essentially a small inge with a flat bar welded on a side,a M16x2 nut on the other,then a primitive angle adjustment.
Just an M6 screw,2 washers and a carbon brush spring

Bored out and faced all sides. Used grub points to pop them apart then mark the other holes. Scary how easily they popped apart after Id been facing with just the glue joint holding it in lathe 
I put it in without centering and lost the centre of the part and my markings... So bore for an offcut, out that will give something to scribe to with the calipers
