I run my truck on miss fuel it's a mixture of petrol and diesel from a recovery company. I used to pay 50p a litre but now with less and less cars able to run on it I get it for free. I've filled up my holding tanks and iam getting more than I use, so I was thinking of running my central heating oil boiler on it. Anyone tried it ?

Sounds like "slush" .....my fuel tanker driver friend told me how the pipelines around here send diesel, and then petrol (gasoline)
and the intermix at the changeover is sent to a tank to be driven back to the refinery.
Running the mix in a boiler I would think could be dangerous.

Impressive! What sort of truck is so resilient that it can survive on such a variety ? Early Landrover?
No a ssangyong korando mercedes engine with a Bosch inline injector pump it will run on anything that burns
If there's to much petrol I give it a splash of two stroke oil.I can't visualise any engine that will run for very long on a 50/50 mix, or thereabouts, of diesel and petrol.

My 1940s/50s sidevalve Morris Minors run on miss fuel nicely. Designed for 82 octane fuel from the post-war period. The diesel makes a nice lubricant.

Years ago, where I worked, we had a contract driver who put about 25 gallons of petrol in the diesel lorry. I had that out before we called the garage. I had a Triumph Vitesse at the time & it ran fine on the mix, just smelt a bit funny, I wasn’t going to waste it!

Mate of mine had an old Hillman Minx, that would run on just about anything, I remember him running out of petrol & slinging a gallon of paraffin in, it got him to the garage. Cellulose thinners went into it on another occasion as well.

can hardly believe that after it conked out and paraffin ignited with a spark plug cold .
paraffin tractors had to be started with petrol till hot then turn over to the paraffin for them to run or they would just wet the spark plug and its going nowhere

TVO was slightly heavier than paraffin/kerosene, but you could still switch when the engine was still relatively cold.can hardly believe that after it conked out and paraffin ignited with a spark plug cold .
Certainly wouldn't start on it from stone cold though, however some petrol in the mix and it probably would.

If we are talking about military tanks, I understand they can run on just about any liquid fuel.
