Nope, twin circuit - I can't remember the failure mode now - whether it simply didn't pump up, or in doing so, emptied the reservoir. I deliberately mentioned my warp factor 9 drive as any lack of braking at that point would have been rather noticeable on a journey I used to make regularly.
Second one simply went to the floor.
I've had a couple of older single circuit ones fail on other cars - one stuck down the bore and failed to return, the other just wore out.
I am bemused by a couple of newer cars I have (well, okay, one of them is 2007) that simply will not get a hard pedal - always feels soft, although brakes work fine. Neither will actually sink to the floor, just feel "funny".
Why ? Had his Vauxhall been stolen ?My Mondeo brakes are great but then God drove a Ford...

Very slim.Gone right through the service history here. Brake fluid was last changed it seems in Sept 2015 by the Honda dealer i.e 3 years after registration. Every 3 years is the recommended interval it seems.
Thereafter they appear to have it regularly serviced by a local garage, annually. Only appears to have engine oil changes, oil, cabin and air filters along with brake components as in discs & pads.
What are the chances I wonder of a brake fluid change making all the difference and saving me £400?

Being the tightest man in NATO I'd give it a try and find out.Very slim
I agree, probably will not work, but will only cost a few litres of fluid and some time.Being the tightest man in NATO I'd give it a try and find out.
