People are prepared to travel to get their cars restored if you have the right reputation. Its not uncommon to have cars shipped overseas to have work done. I've had people hundreds of miles away because you are the right person to do the job for them.
So having no one local prepared to pay your prices isn't always a problem.
Do great work, show the worlds it's great on social media and the customers will find you
I’m picking up a T4 camper from Bristol next week to replace the floor and touch up the wings.
I’m in Edinburgh.
OP is probably even neater than I am and he’s got folk quibbling prices? I’d be disappearing their numbers from my contact list.
Within my area I do most of the welding for 5 or 6 independent garages; I share the load from Farmer’s Autocare/Kwik Fit with an old-timer who does 80% of the work for them and I pick up the more awkward ones; and I have other garages calling me every month or so enquiring about availability.
OP is 100% underselling himself and going too cheap, ESPECIALLY for that quality of work.
