I’ve got an eisle cold saw that I fully rebuilt incl the gearbox with all new bearings etc. it had new oil at the time. I would say it’s had under 1 yr of heavy use since
Have had an oil leak and went to refill and the oil has gone nearly black and smells burnt!
I’m assuming I’ve got the wrong grade in there. Trouble is there’s no manuals/labels etc and I can’t seem to find any conclusive information out there on the grade. I did find reference to someone using 80w-90 so that’s what I’ve used link below.
It’s a slow running high torque gearbox with a worm drive running a bronze gear that then drives helical gears to drive the output I can get some pics if it’ll help it’s a work of art!!
Can anyone help find a more suitable grade of oil?
