Sorry to ask a dumb Q
What is the Dykem type used for? It dries so is it so you can mark something with a scribe?
Or is it an indicator for bearing contact etc? Or both.
I have the rub off can in post #1. I used it to check a small cylinder head for flatness which worked great. But for checking the contact of a drill chuck arbor can I use the same stuff? Or should it really be a trying type and see where it rubbed off?
