Jump Pack For Big Diesel Generator

100kva Generator on site won't start today.

Need a jump pack, hopefully one i can pick up tomorrow morning and give it a few hours to charge.

Anyone recommend something.

Don't want a tiny lithium thing really. Needs to be HD.

Customer is paying so i'm not too concerned over price. Shall we say £250 budget.

The NOCOs are serious jump packs. Amazon sell them.

Otherwise i'd just get a couple 019/020 batteries and leads and make my own jump pack. Mate's workshop used to have a sack trolley with 4 019s on it, you could start anything with it and crank engines for days.

Would a new battery not be a better plan? I did briefly look at some of the jump packs but even the fantastic one above will not do a totally flat or dead battery but a spare battery would

In a previous life we had a trolley with 4 lorry battery's on just for jump starting, never seen it fail

Not only did i return it they had no record of me having it!!!!

I returned about 6k stock over what they thought i had, they sent this stuff out lol

They have sold 2400 of them for a good reason I am on my second one, first one lasted well past its suggested life.

Not sure who makes them, they seem to get badge engineered, my first one was from Ring.

What would have the most effect on the quality/longevity? Would it be the battery inside? Is is a similar situation to 18650 lithium cells where everyone makes them but certain brands are better?

Having found the manual it contains 2x 22ah 1500mah lead acid batteries, which makes it very repairable.

For a one off, a pair of jump leads would be far easier.

If it's 24V and you only have 12V vehicles, stick them on a single battery for a known amount of time, then the other battery for the same length of time.

For the price you could buy two 60-80Ah 12v lead acids and connect them series or parallel as needed. It will ofcourse be much heavier than that 20kg item and require some kind of cart to be fabricated to move them around.
