Just recently, I have noticed that the weld quality from my Clarke 150TE has started to get a little inconsistent.
The machine is about 4 years old and, over its life has had about 5 reels of .6mm wire and half a reel of .8 mm wire through it.
Having changed the tip and made sure that the feed rollers are clean and working well, there has been little improvement. This leads me to believe that the culprit may indeed be the liner.
These machines come as standard with a wire liner, which is, I imagine, much more hardy than the plastic liner in my old SIP. Notwithstanding this, I guess that even the shallowest grove worn into the liner may affect quality.
I'd appreciate any experience that you fine fellows have with wire liners - perhaps even on this machine. The liner looks like an easy swap - but I don't want to disturb the old one unless I absolutely have to.
Cheers,
Ian.
