At some point I will need to replace 10mm steel tube hydraulic lines which has bespoke end fittings, the working pressure is 180bar. I plan to re-use the end fittings but I'm unsure about whether brazing or welding is the better option - welding will give a better mechanical joint but only at the point of welding, brazing will theoretically be a weaker joint but will 'flow' into the socket which is 8mm deep.
Yes, there are caveats relating to hydraulics, the system is my own and any leaks will be shielded from persons in the immediate area, loss of fluid will not compromise the safety of the system.
I've plenty of experience of hydraulics, just never had to join pipes to fittings that aren't threaded!.
