Today is oil up the monarch lathe and run through things

Yes its a unique set up. But surprisingly everything works

It gets boring at times. Some people are genuinely interested. Others get on my nerves and get told to f off

Today...I have been sorting and restoring the monarch tailstock and fittings. The screw and nut are in great condition. Slight wear and tear on the barrel but as you would expect. The annoying thing is some of the parts have been chrome plated and I hate chrome. I have been upgrading my finishing techniques for chrome parts in actually removing the plating and polishing the base material. Am happy with the results.

That's all the internals for the monarch tailstock done. Tailstock base is cleaned and will need scraping in to suit the ways.

Also today. The tailstock was in the worst condition that I have ever seen. The finish was awful. So I been blending in the surfaces and corners to something satisfactory. As you can see from the pictures...

OK.so front garden is currently full. Although some stuff has been moved round the back. All tailstock and tool posts have been removed. Currently sitting on drive is.

1905 pratt and whitney lathe
1957 asquith pillar drill.
Big snow and co surface grinder.
8 inch buttler slotter.
1NB parkson milling machine.
7 inch vintage pipe threader.
Number 10 Manchester Power saw.
1908 dsg that's just been moved..

I am in the process of moving them up the top garden round the back. But have a heap up there to. And stuff that will need to come back here thats scattered around the country
