What a great forum!

As the title says, I think this is a fantastic forum.
As a non qualified engineer, I am absolutely amazed by the things that you guys are able to produce.
As an “old world” trained car mechanic I have had the pleasure of being able to Arc, Gas, and Mig weld plus do some car prep and respraying using cellulose paint - and of course repair cars.
Nevertheless some of the engineering stuff I see on here is Brilliant.

It's a great forum. Helpful, often expert level knowledge on a huge range of subjects not just welding. Really supportive comments when members are ill or struggling with mental health issues. Best bit for me is that there is rarely any snarkiness, putting down of other posters, or just plain nastiness that I see on some of my other hobby forums.

You regulars and the owner should be proud of what you have created here, guys. It's really something special.

About half the tools I have filled the various sheds with actually work.

The idea is I will use them to fix the other half. Eventually. It's a good job I don't do this for a living, or I'd starve.

So true. I have pretty much given up on one of my other (unmoderated) hobby forums because one particular individual has made it so unpleasant for everybody. People message me and say it's why they no longer post but I was always of the view that you shouldn't let people like that drive decent posters away. Now I realise life's too short to waste on thick and nasty people.

I can honestly say that I have never seen that on this forum. A few tiny spats, inconsequential in number considering the size of the forum and volume of posters, but just about everybody on this forum manages to be civil 100% of the time. It's a peaceful refuge from the keyboard warriors I encounter elsewhere.

Loads of benefits to this forum, but the one that stands out for me is the questions/answers consist of ENGLISH!! and correct use of descriptions/component names that at least allow you to follow posts that you have no idea about. On other forums there has been many a time I’ve just sat staring at a post that I have no idea how to decipher???? And that’s on subjects that I should know!!!

I don't really have an opinion on the forum. Hardly ever here...
