well I've just been in my local Lidl's and it's choka with tooly stuff and I never bought a dam thing ,well other than two half duck pancakes and sauce in a box for tea and a sour dough bagette so I can safely say " My names Rob and I'm not a tool addict "
Oh and while I was there the heavens opened here of monsoon proportion and was also entering the bakery section behind the stands at the same rate the manager didn't seem to concerned as he stood and took pictures then carried on stocking shelves at the same time the water was running under the bakery stands and into the shop area

I was tempted by several lovely items of outstanding quality but the force was strong , well I didn't have me business card did I .

I'm not sure I really need so to be safe I bought 2 of them

Actually when opened twas four decent size duck legs 2 packs of 10 pancakes and 2 x sachets of hoisin sauce uuummmhh .
and to top it all it was 60% off , out of date tomorrow

Then I used it. Inches were marked in 10ths.

I will buy stuff from lidl's and aldi but it will have a selective use , I've found it's not all Tosh .

ive just bought the 2 set squares and there spot on even there markings

ive also tested them up against another set square and that also says its true so im happy enough

the 2 lengths are 710mm and 400mm the steel is a bit flimsey though

i also picked up 2 sticky measure tapes as well

I never had any Lidl tools and thought they would be sh÷te until I bought a job lot of tools. And some new Parkside 20v stuff was included.

I was going to sell them on until I started using them and actually liked them!

Parkside Performance is the higher level range of tools they do. Brushless etc and in my opinion on par with Milwaukee etc but without the high price tag. My performance selection is growing

I wonder who makes Lidls tools ,, maybe their cordless stuff is made by someone who makes big name stuff too .. Ive no idea , or maybe Lidl sells enough to make or have made to spec their own stuff.

It'll be made by one of the large companies, Lidl will approach them and say we want xx thousand of this, that and the other.

Used to happen all the time in the lighting industry. Laura Ashley was made by Dar, B&Q was Searchlight and Firstlight. Homebase was a bit of a mixed bag. Sadly I can usually identify the manufacturer for lighting by the item code structure even after being out of the industry for 15 years.

Actually it wouldn't surprise me if it was Techtronic Industries that was supplying them.
