Ok so is it then OK for the director to open a new limited company in the same premises?Voluntary liquidation means the owners have decided to close the business down. So they pay their creditors and sell everything* off. Shut the doors.
Compulsory liquidation is where its forced by those they owe money too.

There is a bit of a loophole... Open a very similar sounding business name a month before and then close the existing one. No Phoenix offence then.
As time passes it seems legit.There are three possible modes of liquidation, two of which have 'voluntary' as part of their description. Probably a good idea to find out which one it is.
