Most of the small engines I've worked on have had Walbro carbs, the rebuild kits for them I got off eBay have usually worked OK.
My current strimmer, a cheapy McCulloch, wouldn't start and spares from anywhere didn't seem to exist. I bought one of the generic Chinese 11mm carbs, I was going to pinch the gaskets, diaphragms etc out of it but in the end I fitted the whole thing, fired up first time and didn't even need adjusting.
