My favourite rust treatment is the angle grinder.Treat the rust and use some touch up paint is about your only realistic option.
Anything else is going to take time and money to fix it, even if it is a smart repair - there isn't really any shortcuts when it comes to paint.

We have t-cut (bought for machines, not cars lol). I'll give it a go.t cut it first ,, you will be amazed at how much of it vanishes and how much better it looks ,,, then rust convert and one of those touch up pots with the brush in the right color ,,, it will look a lot better
