to be fair you must take care of those mine get used for drilling mixing up and mixing paint they are clean ish as i do wipe them down but not that good

I do. If I need to do a job where a tool is likely to get scragged, I'll generally buy a cheap tool for that task, rather than bugger one of my better tools up.

I got the same ish set at home (think they 12v now not 10v) - the only Bosch battery tools I got - everything else is Red at workshop...

I been pleased with little drill set from Bosch - used it this morning to reattach upstairs toilet to bathroom floor that had come loose... Little impact driver just buried a couple of 4" long 14g screws at an angle thru floorboards and into joist. Thought I would be pilot drilling these - but little tool sent them home... No fuss at all...

My two cents worth. Long time ago I had Panasonic, from NiCd to NiM and finally to Li. They got harder to get and to get any spares for so changed over to Metabo Li. The drill chucks are in no way as good as the Panasonic (don't grip as well and drills can slip, also taps slip in Metabo chucks). Initially Metabo made a brushed 5" grinder, OK but would melt the brush carrier and grinder would stop 
. Now with the brushless when they get too hot they stop to cool down. I have several 5" brushless and their 7" brushless grinders and they are good. Battery powered grease gun, sausage gun, tapping drill, impact drivers and wrenches to name a few, basically they are the 18v range with all batteries interchangeable with all tools, this is the easiest for me. I was put off by my one and only Milwaukee sausage gun. Wasn't that user friendly and battery packed in, got an new battery and it also packed it in, so I got when it again become available a Metabo one and that one works. Just my experience. Problem with the older Panasonic is that batteries are no longer available, but the tools still work fine.

Can't argue with most of the previous posts, but I'm another yellow-voter. Four dewalt drills, impact driver, jigsaw, recip saw, torch (surprisingly useful!), multitool, orbital sander - only problem is one drill chuck that won't go to hammer drill mode
That said, I wouldn't fault anyone for picking any of the other major brands - I suspect that many people bought a good multipack deal, like me with my first pair of dewalt drills, and then stuck with it.
On batteries, I kind of disagree with what gaz wrote (which isn't unusual!) in that I can leave batteries fully charged for weeks and have zero issues with them holding charge and being usable. I have found, though, that 5AH batteries are worth the (far higher) investment than the smaller batteries.

I better not show you a picture of my old Bosch 110v SDS drill I've had since the early 90's then...
Still going strong.
But at least you now know that your unused tools will last a lifetime

I might have to get that bosch set...I've been looking for a while for a 10v/12v set.
All my stuff is Dewalt (18v or 54v)...their 18v stuff is excellent and gets the job done but it gets very heavy with repetitive tasks. If I'm under a floor with 1 foot of clearance I need something lighter than an 18v drill!
...sounds like the little bosch set might work for the smaller jobs where access is tight or not convenient for the heavy stuff.

I've added it to my tool list...main use would be stuff like putting floor boards back down or doing cupboard brackets etc...the 18v dewalt stuff is just a bit too heavy. If I'm doing the same task all day long I need something a bit lighter.
This is when 12v tools are perfect. I only have the Lidl stuff ATM, bought to see how much I would use it but won't die so I can go and buy the Milwaukee M12 kit
