How can I stop a 2.5mt X 6mm diam steel rod from swaying about like a 'car whip type aeriel?

A wide ish base triangle with the thin poles high enough only you can reach the platform.

But the electric fencer unit on part of the pole insulated from the ground and the platform as mentioned above is the answer.


Edit. It might not be the answer come to think of it as the squirrel would need to complete the circuit to ground to get a shock. An electrified portion close to but not touching the earth might work. Its only you then that would get the kick if the platform wasn't isolated, wouldn't affect the birds

I was thinking 2-poles close in my post above.... with one +ive the other Earth. Then as squirrel grabs both to climb, it completes the circuit, recieves the belt.

make a squirrel trap with a wooden tunnel and a mk 4 fentrap inside. bait it up with bird food . i made one for a guy and he caight about 50 in the year a fresh lot moved in when the others were dispatched and they went the journey up in the sky as well

How about 2 more 2.5m rods in a triangular pattern-perhaps 50cm apart - with rods across the top to stabilise them?
