Torque Wrench repair recco’s

Used my Sykes Pickavant Motorq 800100 torque wrench at max capacity of 100Nm yesterday - too lazy to go and get it‘s bigger brother. Didn’t get the usual click; and now it won’t click at any setting, feels like it’s stuck. Always looked after it, domestic garage use, would the spring back etc. any recommendations as to where to get it repaired?

It's normally cheaper to store it in the round filing cabinet permanently and buy a new one... unless it has a guarantee for life, which I very much doubt it has...

No harm at this point in opening it up.

I'm pretty sure those Sykes units are actually made by Norbar. May be worth giving them a ring, I've found them to be pretty helpful

Good idea. Nothing to lose.

Surely that won't make any difference, the the whole point of the push through units is that they can work properly both ways. If you set it in LH mode then the mech will be loaded exactly the same way as it is in RH mode.

It’s not a push through; it’s a reversible ratchet head on the smaller versions. Anyhow, it might well have worked. I’ll compare it against a couple of other torque wrenches where the ranges overlap tomorrow to see how close they are.

This is a good quality torque wrench we are considering. Other possibilities are a seized pivot on the drive/ratchet head or debris preventing movement of the ratchet head. When the OP comes back we will have a better understanding.

They are Norbar.
We get supplied with Norbar at work, and the Sykes is just a Norbar with different colour plastic bits and a sticker stuck on.
