Roll cab storage solutions

Show me your storage solutions... things like dividers, trays, racks, holders... not into shadow foam.


Need to organise my gear at work a bit better. Knocking up a side locker for stuff in chunkier cases to free up some drawer space.

Any little racks etc that sit nicely in drawers to hold things like screwdrivers in place... pics or links for some inspiration much appreciated.

I like these. You can cut them to length. And Ive now found a cheap supply.





I lso like cardboard tote trays. Ive had these over 25yrs now. when not in use I lay them flat. seem to fit in plenty of tools drawers. or cut them down.

What ate the loops made of, looks like they'd work well for things like the screwdriver drawer...

Plastic. Ive had some snap on branded ones for over 25yrs. these arent as good, but 1/6th of the cost

3D printed some spanner racks



Socket extensions on a bit of thin ply with strips of wood glued onto it.



Socket tray, had the cheap ones for years but a pair of Mac tools ones came up on FB Marketplace so was rude not to

I dont know. I bought it a few weeks ago week. Gobbled up a load of stuff, I have laying around

Dont feel the love for roll cabs anymore, they tend to expand at an alarming rate and lose the ability to roll which kind of defeats the object.

Im inclined to agree, turn into metal drawer chests. My brother has used plan chests under his bench, very deep big drawers.

Ive been looking for some plan chests for yrs, I ve also been mulling over using Polstore cabs as well.

But then KRL roll cab turned up at a (gulp) reasonable price, and then the locker a few days later.

Its sort of what I am getting at, when you look at the cost of these roll cabs I think the money would be better spend on integrating drawer/cupboards into the space you have. Its one less obstacle to walk around/trip over and a lot less attractive to the great unwashed.

So have I, Lista, Bott etc are all about a kidney a chest, and very difficulty to find used at sensible money

Stupid money Bob. I wouldnt even dream of buying a new one. These are probably 15yrs old, a fraction of the cost and look brand new.

A lot of wasted space underneath. But I have that sorted with a full depth tray on runners, Im having folded to hold oils etc.

@addjunkie. I spoke to the Polstore agents before the Coof, new units are not much more than battered secondhand units. At the time they were ordered from Italy, so after the coof I didnt bother.

I did much the same as you years back and I've been unable to date it.
Compared to a KRA they are massive.
