Do you carry a Multi tool?

i've carried a leatherman for years. a lot depends on you attitude if stopped etc i always carry my sparky card as well and would say i'm on call. Have had to return it to the van a couple of times when i've gone out for the night (in work gear normally) and have forgotten its on my belt

i think its illegal to Carry a folding blade over 3 inches . its silly realy as you can kill a person with almost anything if you wanted . i knitting needle , a boot lace . if a person is intent on harming another person , then there going to harm them . you cant carry a knife but the government can poison the water and toothpaste with fluoride which is toxic waste ( google fluoride ) you can google aspartame as well ( artificial sweetener ) hypocrisy .

I always have a knife in my work trousers pocket. The blade is about three inches long, gets used quite often. Not sure if it could be classed as an offensive weapon cos its fairly blunt!

The government owns the rights to killing in the UK hence why James Bond needs a "licence to kill". The license recently changed so there is a computer aptitude test where you have to click on any hazards and identify any signs along the way. You have to perform 4 different operations without anyone getting hurt along the way. When you get to 70 you need to re-take the test which is why Sean Connery's license was revoked.

Yeah, it's not right is it but that's the Eurostar for you, funny thing is, if you get on by car at Folkstone you can take what you want, for years now I've taken all sorts of knives and multi tools with me in our camper van, never had a problem, they are just concerned that the camping gas bottle is turned off.

Exactly what type of flick knife is it? if the button is not attached to the blade (like the traditional French flick knife) then fair enough, it's a banned item here in the UK.

If you thumb the actual blade to get it moving then it's classed as an assisted opener, they are suppose to be legal in the UK, you still need a good reason to carry one in public because of the lock.

This trusted UK company sells them so they can't be illegal per say, not sure what an officer would think though, I guess a court case would clear it once and for all, I don't think anyone's tested that yet.

Its *VERY* handy to be able to do that one handed up a ladder or something after fishing it out your pocket in an emergency. I imagine the spring out ones could go off in your pocket by accident or something so I steer clear of them on a practicality basis.

It also has a locking mechanism for the blade you have to defeat to fold it back up (again you can do this with the thumb easily if deft enough), which again is handy, as anyone who's ever had a folding knife fold up onto their fingers can vouch for.

I don't want to test uk law. I just don't bring it with me when Im forced to go there on business, same for my pendrive full of security tools and other fun stuff that's "a grey area" even though theyre just tools of the trade. Mostly, I just avoid going there

Have you got a link to this knife? it just sounds like the blades got a thumb stud or hole in the case of Spyderco's for one hand opening, a lot of knives have this. These are not classed as flick knives or even assisted openers.

If you come over by plane or Eurostar you probably made the best decision not to bring anything sharp or pointy.

I've carried a Leatherman for many years. When I travel by air, I buy a new one at my destination and mail it back when I leave. (One can never have too many multitools.)
I'm never without it, and secure it using a clip on a loop of "50/50" military cord attached to my belt.

Being in the US, carrying a Leatherman or small knife is no problem as far as police are concerned.

I was looking at that exact model myself, but run out of funds before I could buy it

Got a Fallkniven U2 for little money a few months before, but the blade is slightly to small for what I want to use it for.

Spyderco knives are pretty good from what I have heard

Also got a custom made knife, which was made from a sawmill bandsaw blade

Picked mine up of fleabay before they stopped sales. It's a nice knife, the one handed opening is very handy.

I like the custom blade, I have a 3' saw blade I'm going to make some knives out of when I get time
