Exactly. Once you learn what your tool does, you can make cuts with confidence.You want to finish with the most stable cut you can get. This equates to the same size as the corner radius or slightly bigger. Scratchy scratchy only catches a monkey, and the finish is rougher than a Goats knee.
What I normally do is rough to plus one millimetre . Then put a finishing tool in with a 0,4mm corner radius. touch on and take a 0,5mm cut. Once that cut is done, measure and take whatever is left in one go. Normally it’s slightly less than 0,5mm as the first cut having touched on lands up being slightly more than the 0,5mm indicated, but it’s still slightly bigger than the corner radius.Because your last two cuts are basically identical, spring back on the first will be the same on the second so it cancels that variable out.
