wow there's a lot of scams on Facebook market place

I fancy a new car, I've got a range rover sport right now

I quite like it, but I bought it from a mate after I hurt my back and needed a better sitting position but.... he screwed me over a bit so it's always left a bad taste in my mouth

girlfriend has a a hybrid golf, and it's nice, really really nice to drive

so I've been looking at full electric or a hybrid

a hybrid range rover would suit me well, I've used mine to tow stuff around a bit, tow a van out of mud etc.

Facebook isn't my normal go to for stuff like this but I thought I'd have a look


and WOW every other search result is a scam (or looks like one anyway)

I'm shocked they don't get found or reported/removed faster

I'm looking for a digger at the moment. Anything that is too good to be true is a brand new seller and weird numbers like £4380. Its every other post almost! Thing is, i would always go and collect - as you would with a car - so its hard to figure how they would actually acheive their scam!

I used to spend some time reporting them and gave up once I realised that FB don't care. The scams are pretty transparent but sadly will take in the vulnerable.

Even though the item is advertised locally its amazing how many times the machine you are looking at is actually currently working at a factory site on Orkney, Shetland or IOM etc. Usually accompanied with postcodes etc. delivery will be arranged, numerous pictures often with many hedges, trees and other greenery that just doesn't exist on the islands.

SCAMMERS the lot of them, would hope the OP won't send money for a vehicle unseen or tried.

loads on there scamming with ifor williams at moment , seems every other one, yes its available , you can collect next wednesday..as I do nights...but I do have a lot of interest so you will need to leave a deposit to secure it..bank transfer only. ye right. same story all the time

Its the daft sods that get scammed that causes so uch of the scamming. If folk were not as lazy then they would go and see the item they want to buy from a classified sale..

Where have the days gone when its was lets go out for a day and look at a car.

No sympathy from me if folk get scammed.

The same with selling things. I'm selling a few bits and bobs now and have got loads of messages saying "I buy this, however I transfer money and my courier collect." No he won't. If you want it you bring cash, end of.
Oh, and will you swap for an ebike. Also no. What is it with these people?

This's why I'd rather give stuff away to folk I know, else bin/scrap things, nowadays.

Plus, if some unknown is turning up at your place, you don't know if they're going to be scoping the place whilst they're there.

Just not worth the hassle.

We've actually had some very pleasant experiences too to be fair. Sold a travel sized guitar (not a small "beginners " guitar) to a lovely guy who sat on the lawn and played it, was really appreciative and took the details of all the folk clubs in the area. On the other hand, the bloke who'd previously said he wanted it and we were preparing to deliver it to, because he had no transport and it's a nice ride, cancelled at the last minute because he suddenly realised he's six foot three and it's a travel sized guitar so far too small for him. Despite it saying clearly, several times in the advert that it's travel sized and giving the model number. You couldn't make it up.

Don't even look for a dji mini 3 drone... looked at 3 offered around £300 from different people and when I asked to see the receipt they all sent the same one !!!
