29.4v 2amp charger or ideas how to charge with out one

Got an electric scooter so say works but the battery got no charge in it I don't want to spend 20 30 quid to see if it works so how can I charge it ?

I've got a laptop charger buy only goes up to 24v would that do at a push ?

Or I've a car charger
18 volt makita
12 v dewalt tue then together to get 30v ?

Also if requires 2amp will a 1 amp do but charge slower ?

Try asking a local cycle shop and see if they can test/charge the battery.

No I've haven't I've wanted one but I've always got by with a small 6 to 12v adaptor and a laptop power supply that goes from 14v to 24 so ive not realy needed one and I've looked at buying one but the kitty said no as this is only thing I want it for at the moment I'm sure more jobs will come along but can't condone it at mo

Not a bad shout if all else fails I have 2 bikes shops near but don't know if they do Sparky bike but worth a thought

A lot of chargers put out a few volts more, a 12v car charger puts out in excess of 14v. Put a meter on the one you have.

Its probably a 36V battery so anything less than about 35V will be useless.
If there are absolutely no signs of life and it's been like that for a while the battery is probably damaged. Lithium batteries don't like being over-discharged and become a fire risk if you try to recharge, hence why they (should) have protection circuitry on them.

Do not under any circumstances just connect a power supply or basic charger to the battery, without some form of current limiting.

Get a psu from a old CCTV or a door holder system. Some are amps.
Use that .
Or charge each battery separately.

Yeah they are expensive brand new , many bench psu's top out at 30v though.

I've got a riden one that has been doing well , I got the whole kit not just a front panel but you can get the parts separate if you have a suitable psu. (I have the 12 amp not the 18 amp one)

There's cheap regulated lab supplies for £50 but the quality looks questionable. The one in your original post was £150. I was forced to buy one to bench test an electric bicycle I was building and reflashing with open source software. The bike is done but I still regularly use the supply for general tinkering. It's one of those tools I put off buying for years but once I have it I can't imagine not having it.

Just noticed that's 60v and serious amperage!

Just beware that 60v DC can be dangerous. I read that puts it in a high voltage class which is why leccy bikes top out at 52v or so.

Yeah in theory the 55v DC is max before it's classed as dangerous in the UK. (from memory , might be 50v ?)

Don't do the lick test to see if it's on !

I'm fairly certain that most of the scooter/bike chargers are based on this circuit or very similar , they are the generic buck convertors but with the added current limiting.

I have a 36v Li-Ion cordless strimmer that I found, but no charger. I opened the battery pack and soldered a jumper wire so that I can charge it in two "halves" from an 18v power tool charger.

That could be done, using jumper wires from something like this:

but with 7 or maybe 8 cells that would be tedious.

As I have done many times, if I did not have the correct charger.

I have checked a few scooters in my time.
Modern smart chargers will do one battery at a time. The chargers for the scooters rtc are set to charge both at the same time.
