As you said it looks like it's been looked after electronically, they may even have left the manual in the cabinet.

For sure. Any control panel that organised and clean on what is clearly an older machine has been looked after, with very little expense spared by the looks.As you said it looks like it's been looked after electronically, they may even have left the manual in the cabinet.
You open the control cabinet on most of these old machines there's a dozen different types and makes of contactor, wiring replaced, fuses hanging out, all the failed junk sat in the bottom etc that's before you get to the cobwebs and cutting oil mist that has coated everything!
That doesn't look like a manual, it looks like the cover for the drive housing.As you said it looks like it's been looked after electronically, they may even have left the manual in the cabinet.
I have the Heidenhan manual with it.
I am going to give it a bash getting it back up and running again. I bet those motors weren't cheap in their day.
I am stunned to find SEM are still going and making stuff in Great Britain. Doing pretty well by the look of it. Bog factory near Dartford.

Have you wired it up right.Well not a good start. The display was running in the factory. Now it is dead. I can hear a buzzing coming from the power drawbar but that is it
Will have to check if power is getting to the control unit /vdu.

3 phase electrics with a neutral surprisingly.
I assume the display would still run if the phases are the wrong way around?
I just checked the voltage going into the controller and it is 66 volts or something. Should be 110v.

are all 3 phases ok after the breakers at 415 volt across the phases
