Having never used these, I have a question.

Cord, Ends, 60mm², Black

Cord End 60mm Black DIN 462284 for un insulated cord ends please search UCE Additional Information

Do they just secure the cable as the fitting is tightened onto the end?
Or do these need to be crimped onto the cable first?

Cord end ferrules are crimped on, not sure about the copper tube pins which is a surprise as I would have thought after nearly 50 years as an industrial sparky I would have used them

neater, you could get a bigger cable terminated in a smaller opening

same here, but i only have 40 years

I use these on multistrand wires going into MCB's etc, building regs says you should use single copper wire, but if you're using RN7 God knows what, flexible multistrand stuff, these are great, as when you screw down the cable clamp, it does it job better, than screwing down onto a multistrand wire, does that make sense ?

All my flexible extension cables are ferruled, as they last longer, better contacts etc....

As a footnote, I'll just add if you've got a distribution box, with MCB''s which don't have screw down contacts, these slide a solid wire in and it grips, bit like a wago connector, I use solid wires, going to dominoes, with ferruled multi strand wire, and I'm really not a fan of dominoes connectors, but needs must some times.
