Ktm 400 ?

LC4 620 Super Competition with some modifications. Brutal, heavy and weak.
But i was able to start it by hand. Just a matter of rotating masses. The former owner breaks 2 kickers because of he is an idiot (it is my mate).

Hard to see in picture. These are the last attack. Burned my leg and broke 4 rips. And several other items.
Bevor i broke my tibia and fibula head which was really painful. Clavicula also.

In my youff a big MX fan AMCA all on 125 2 strokes big accident put paid to that , I did try to go back but in all honesty I'd lost my bottle . I probably could have got back if I'd given it more time, was just fun bikes and messing around after that . Then a while back my mad mate made buy a husky Wr 125 enduro I've told the story about that ! I'd have a nice green laner tomorrow if I had the time and cash .

I began my motorcycle career with about 6 or 7 with an old Puch Mofa. After that i got a Yamaha TY125 Trial which was so super low that i could drove them with about 10. several years later got a YZ250 which was a monster. Police things are involved so i was a bit muted.
Then Kawa ZXR750R (some bit of modifications involved and about 150hp). Silence. Then Kawa ZXR900 (piece of crap).
HD 1260 Shovels from my brother who died. XR500? Yamaha RD350, KTM. And some other pieces of junk.
Now only 4W

50 years 2/3 wheels off road comps mainly, finishing with 4 years Classic Car trials. No motocross far too unfit.
Slightly " off pieste" today saw the start of the SSDT. Saddest sight this morning on you tube was the live feed of the riders leaving the start ramp and one poor soul failing to fire up his bike .So marks lost before he crossed the start line and only 6 more days to go. Still at least it wasn't snowing as it was 50 years ago.

Just sold my scrambler 2 weeks ago after nearly 20 years of adventures.
It was a 1982 Yamaha TT600 (competition version of the XT600 with magnesium casings and long travel suspension, complete with "Not for road use" dating certificate from Yamaha and a V5 from DVLA)



It was a really fun toy but not at all civilised

The classic racing stuff is surprisingly popular. My 80s MX career was short, Yz400 1 season. It hurt too much, had a kx250 a5 after that, still fell off it too often. About 18 months ago, had a go on a KTM 450. An impressive thing, but Im too old and brittle. 5 minutes was enough!

KTM Freeride 250, Bultaco Alpina 350 and Ossa MAR 250, just mild green laning now, used to do trials. I got rid of the W800 to buy the KTM

Played off road for donkeys years (fooled about, not raced) & rode a variety of old hooligans (e.g. RM125, RM250, Maico 440, YZ465, CR500), plus assorted trailies with MX tyres on for enduro-style mucking about in Forestry etc.
Mainly roadbikes otherwise, & still have a BMW Rockster 1150RR thingummy (that's not being used tbh).
Got into MTB at 48yo, now riding and having lots of muddy fun on an E-Mtb.

Edit: still have an old mongrel 1979 DT250 with YZ250 running gear, and the DT motor has a TS250 piston with ports cut into it, & a barrel jacked up with kitchen lino base gasket (the TS piston has the gudgeon pin 1mm lower than a DT item, & a part YZ, part DT pipe, no airbox just a ram air filter. Went a lot better than a stock DT, but looked & sounded ugly af.
The chassis etc has had it now, but the motor is still good.

Had a MAR 1 but always thought of it as a slightly detuned MXer with a short wheelbase that only Mick Andrews could ride. Memory time ( again) 50 years ago today rode across Rannock Moor on one in the snow on the first day of the 73 SSDT..

Fc250 here. Fantastic bike! I've found the biggest factor in riding is having a few mates that also ride! My riding mate has moved down south and others have grown out of riding but I'm going to make an effort this year! I have been wondering if a road registered enduro might get more use though?!!

Nice bit of kit. Please remember that Enduro bikes are for ENDURO's not carving up the trails and giving the Anti brigade even more reason to ban us. Watch Itchi Boots on You Tube she seems to get by with a Trail bike .

The MK1 Mar was a right handful - a friend’s dad dad lent me his when I was 16 as I was without a bike at the time, hard to keep the front wheel on the ground, the MK11 wasn’t much better, not sure you can see this pdf

You can ride an enduro bike perfectly normally on green lanes, just don’t be a knob
