I have been looking around on and off for some time, mostly off though. Have joined to ask stupid questions, learn a few things, and hopefully get some help with my old Telwin machine, that I bought new forty years ago ! Where did the time go eh ?

You think that's a problem? Try searching for a Daihen manual - I found one for exactly the welder I have, in Japanese...

Give them a ring and make an enquiry, if needed? They may still have info on older models.

I have done just that. I have now got a parts list and wiring diagram for it ! Along with a statement that ALL the parts are discontinued. I replied that if parts are not supported after only forty years, I have serious misgivings about buying a replacement machine.

40 years that's a lifetime of welding given that you start at the age of 20 and go till 60 on the same machine...Let us know what the reply to your complaint says

Missed your reply, realistically, its hardly a "lifetime" of welding. I have only just finished my third 5kg roll of wire in the machine in that time !

Sadly there will be no reply to my complaint, as although his company still exists, sadly he checked out a couple of years ago.

Given that its burnt only 3 rolls in 40 years i should think its easily fixed

No characters on the keyboard. Plenty of Japanese about who will happily translate it.
