10mm plate seems to be in short supply locally, it's also stupidly expensive where you can get it with a wider search area.
I'm thinking now that dropping the thickness to 6mm may be the way forward even if it's not ideal. The size will be 1500mm by 900mm, sitting on and 80 x 80 x 6mm box perimeter with a central rib of the same. There won't be any serious thrashing and bashing going on, it'll be used for odds and sods of welding, grinding, sitting an engine on, etc.
What do you think? The other thing is if I use inch welds every foot or so around the edge to fit it I can grind them off and swap it if/when a 10mm sheet comes up.
