Couple of my pals have done thier HGV recently because of this.Interesting, I wasn't aware of any of this stuff.
The farmer who bought my step-dad's BTD8 crawler last year came to fetch it with a tractor and 15 ton trailer, he did a 50 mile round trip. But he also ran a haulage business so likely at least had an HGV licence.
Of all the ****e they throw at you
Driving Otherwise Than In Accordance is the big one. Means you’re uninsured as well, but that depends how benevolent the insurers are. If you’re a big customer and it’s a local insurer (eg NFU) they can say you were insured which at least negates that offence.
At least if you’ve got an HGV the rest is points and/or a fine which isn’t necessarily huge for most people. Especially if you’ve a clean licence.
